Tonight is our Christmas eve. The Christmas eves of all Christmas eves!!! We leave TOMORROW to go pick up our girls!!!!
I can't believe the time has finally come. Our adoption process has been almost one year long - almost exactly. We had NO idea how long it would take when we started the process, in fact one of our first decisions was to not have ANY expectations about when we would get the girls home, that way we couldn't be disappointed. That was probably the BEST decision we could have made!!
But here we are, on the eve of flying one last time to the other side of the world!! Our girls have 3 more sleeps and then we get to put them to bed EVERY NIGHT! We have 2 1/2 more sleeps - I only say that because we have those weird "Galactic Travel Days" coming up - and we never really get a full night's sleep during all our travel, which spans 3 calendar days, since our final destination is 16 hours ahead of where we currently are!!!
We're coming girls, and when you see us we will be reunited FOREVER! No more tearful goodbyes with Dasha at the gate to her orphanage. Emily will always have a mama or daddy to rock her to sleep when she's not feeling well.
My next blog post will be on the other side of the world!!! :)
