We have a court date!!!

Finally, the news we have been waiting for....a court date!  We found out Wednesday that the judge has secured a court date for us, Tuesday, October 30th!

However, we found out WITH that court date, that we are in deed required to do the additional training that our girls' country has now made a requirement for ALL families adopting. (International AND their own domestic adoptions - ALL families have the same requirement)  So, that has left us feeling a bit frazzled and scrambling with our agency to find the trainings that will best meet these requirements AND can be done in the time frame we have. (About 3 weeks to get it all done - approx. 70 hours of additional training, including 30 hours of face-to-face training)

Now, I want to make it very clear that we are NOT mad that we have to do this training, we are not trying to get out of it any way - we appreciate that the country wants to be ABSOLUTELY sure that the parents are as prepared as they possibly can be.  We knew going into this that nothing is certain in international adoption, laws and policies are often changing, and so are international relations.  We want to be the absolute best parents we can be for our girls and additional training is truly only going to help us in that!  I wish we had more time to complete it - so we didn't feel quite so frazzled  - but it is what it is! :)

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we work hard to get this all done in the short time frame we have.  We are hopeful we'll be able to get it all together and not have to request a later court date.  We miss our girls something fierce, and knowing that seeing their precious faces again soon is within our reach....we will work as hard as we can to make it happen!!!

However, if you see me in person - and I look a little like this, don't be too surprised!! :)
